Travel Resources

If you know Amsterdam, you'll probably find Antwerp has that same European charm you love, but with its own unique identity. It's generally less crowded with tourists – and it really shines when it comes to fashion, design, and food. Picture Amsterdam's stylish cousin who's a bit more buttoned-up but still knows how to show you a good time!

Travel

After our move from Amsterdam to Brooklyn, what we originally planned as a local celebration has now become a destination wedding for everyone involved. We are very appreciative of the effort it takes to join us in Antwerp – no matter where you’re traveling from.

Coming from the US

Antwerp does not have an airport, but there are daily flights to Brussels from New York, Chicago and Austin. From the Brussels airport (BRU), it is an easy 35 minute train ride to Antwerp.

Or, if you’re looking to spend additional time in Europe, consider flying to Paris or Amsterdam and taking a train.

Accommodations

Antwerp is a design-centric city with a range of hotels and Airbnbs that reflect the city’s unique position as both cultural archive and contemporary design hub. Here are some we can recommend.

Botanic Sanctuary
If you’re feeling fancy - this former 13th-century monastery has been transformed into a refined urban retreat.

Hotel Julien
This 21-room hotel opened in 2004 and will be freshly renovated by the time the wedding comes around. The decor is whitewashed minimalism, marble counters and small touches of colour, all juxtaposed against the 16th-century building’s historic trimmings.

Hotel Franq
A 39-room boutique hotel that balances Belgian heritage with understated contemporary elegance. The hotel is centered around a light-filled internal courtyard in a 16th-century building that once served as a bank.
